Note: Groups of 8 or less will have the master suite, Flag bedroom on upper level and the lower level available to them. If the 2 bedrooms on the main and Lumberjack bedroom on the upper level are desired, add $60/bedroom/stay for 1 or 2 rooms or $150 cleaning fee for all 3. You’ll always have access to all the living areas.
If your group is:
8 or less you’ll have the master suite and Lumberjack bedroom on the upper level and all the beds in the lower level open and available. This includes a king bed in the master, queen bed in the Lumberjack bedroom, bunk beds (full and twin), queen bed and twin bed in the lower level. Total beds = 6.
An additional 1 or 2 bedrooms can be opened for parties of less than 13 for $60/per bedroom/per stay or $150 for all 3.
Bedroom Policy
To properly estimate the time needed to prepare for guests, and keep our rates down, we close 3 bedrooms for groups of 8 or less.
If your party consists of 9 – 14 we will open an additional bedroom for groups of 9-10; 2 additional bedrooms for groups of 11-12 and 3 additional bedrooms for groups of 13-14.
An additional 1 or 2 bedrooms can be opened for parties of less than 13 for $60/per bedroom/per stay or $150 for all 3.
During your booking, please notify us if you’d like to open additional bedrooms not automatically included in your group size or adjust which bedrooms you have available for your group (see below).
Bedrooms we automatically open for groups of 9 or more:
Groups of 9-10: Flag bedroom (upper level with1 full bed and sofa sleeper)
Groups of 11-12: Flag & Nautica bedrooms (main floor with 2 twin beds)
Groups of 13-14: Flag, Nautica & Bear (main floor with full bed) bedrooms
Booking & Cancellations
50% of your rental fee is due at the time of booking. The balance, including taxes, fees and damage deposit is due 30 days before arrival.
Cancellations more than 60 days prior to arrival receive 90% of deposited funds less a $50 processing fee. Cancellations less than 60 days prior to arrival we will make every attempt to re-book the dates. If we can, you’ll receive 90% of your deposited funds or 90% of the amount we were able to re-book at, whichever is the lower amount, less a $50 processing fee.
Overview of The Home and Leech Lake
Northern Waters Lodge is a PRIVATE HOME located on nearly 2 acres of privacy with stunning views of Miller Bay and Pipe Island on Leech Lake.
Please Note: The access to the fire pit is via a steep walk over the lawn. To access the dock, there is a steep staircase from the lawn to the lake shore. There is a wood structure at the lakeshore with stairs to access the lake. Elderly guests may have difficulty walking down to the lake and back to the home.

We feature three bedrooms + loft with two baths on the upper floor, two bedrooms + 1 bath on the main and a “kids camp” in the walkout lower level complete with game area and bunk beds . The main floor A-frame great room provides access to all living areas, four season porch and the lakeside deck.
You will get that true “up north” feel as the home is North woods throughout with locally made log furniture and decor.
“My favorite thing to do in and around walker is fish. There are so many beautiful and wonderful lakes which make any trip there worthwhile. This cabin helped make fishing on Leech even more enjoyable! The fireplace was our favorite amenity, and was an absolutely wonderful to cozy up to after a cool night on the water.”

Northern Waters Lodge on Leech Lake is a PRIVATE LUXURY HOME located on Miller Bay with views of Pipe Island on Leech Lake.
Northern Waters Lodge is owned by a family from Colorado with family ties to the Walker area. It is managed by Loon Lodge Vacation Cabins.
Our primary vacationers that visit are families and fisherman. We are booked pretty solid from walleye fishing opener in early May until about the 3rd week in October. From November – April we get some ice fishing groups, girls get-a-way, etc.
Other activities include shopping in Walker, boating on Leech Lake, winery tours and trying your luck at the casino. Hunting in the fall is popular along with a trek to the Mississippi headwaters in Itasca State Park.
If you want to get away with a group of your friends or extended family for a peaceful retreat close to a cute-as-can-be northern MN town, you’ve found what you’ve been looking for!
